Staffing review: Dodai accelerates hiring after funding deals

Ethiopian EV startup Dodai has grown the number of its senior staff by 38% in the last one year, according to an analysis of LinkedIn data done by Mobility Rising. It shows the company has 54 senior staff listed on the platform, a growth of 15 from 39 in November last year. This makes Dodai one of the fastest growing EV companies in Africa based on workforce size. 

• Dodai raised $4 million in its Series A round last year, taking its total funding to over $7 million. The company, which makes electric scooters and motorcycles, is using the funding to hire new staff and increase its production capacity.   

• Our analysis identified the presence of some Dodai senior staff in the neighbouring countries of Djibouti and Eritrea. This is a pointer of possible expansion by the company into the two markets.
